Are you eligible for direct access endoscopy?

You may be able to book your gastroscopy or colonoscopy procedure directly (without a consultation). Please see our eligibility criteria to check if this may apply to you.

There is no gap charged for endoscopy procedures. Please contact us to make a booking for your procedure at St John of God Subiaco Hospital or Mount Private Hospital.

  • -You have a referral from your doctor with the reason for endoscopy

    -You are less than 75 years of age

    -Your BMI is less than 40

    -You do NOT have any serious heart, lung, kidney or liver disease

    -You have NOT had previous difficulties with anaesthesia

    -You are NOT on blood thinning medication (not including aspirin)

    -You do NOT have significant mobility impairment affecting independence with bowel preparation

  • Some procedures can be performed at the same time as your colonoscopy procedure. These may include:

    -Rubber band ligation for haemorrhoids

    -Botox injection for chronic anal fissure

    -Dilatation for anorectal strictures

    -Examination under anaesthesia for rectal prolapse
